EDL

As a football commentator/reporter in a past life, I have always been able to remain impartial during club matches. Unfortunately during England matches my national pride at patriotism boils over and I am ashamed to admit it is not a pretty sight.
Detectives from Staffordshire Police have arrested eight more people in connection with crime committed at the English Defence League (EDL) demonstration earlier this year. The arrests have been made as part of ongoing work by officers from the force’s Major Investigation Department to identify those suspected of being responsible for violence and damage during the EDL demonstration on Saturday 23 January. DI Tim Martin is managing a dedicated team responsible for investigating crimes committed

Today I drove past the Mosque in Regent Rd, Hanley. The green dome was glinting in the winter sunshine. It was here a few weeks ago that a former City Councillor Jenny Holdcroft held a demonstration holding up a placard denouncing Islam as being Un English. Another mosque in the City was daubed with paint on the day of the EDL demonstration. The allegation of Ms Holdcroft that Islam is alien is a view shared by many people in the UK.

Well this week has been a crazy one in terms of my contribution to the site. For those of you who don't run websites, let me tell you it is completely an integrated part of your every day life. Tony and Mike both put a massive amount of effort into keeping Pits and pots going, keeping it fresh and keeping the comments moderated. They have to be on hand 24 hours a day.
We here at PitsnPots are proud to be local "Citizen Journalists" who work hard to bring the exclusive stories to our community. Following the E.D.L protest in Hanley on Saturday 23rd January 2010.
