Detectives from Staffordshire Police have arrested eight more people in connection with crime committed at the English Defence League (EDL) demonstration earlier this year. Stoke-on-Trent’s three Conservative Parliamentary candidates have jointly and roundly condemned the English Defence League march which is due to take place this weekend in the City Centre. Norsheen Bhatti, James Rushton and Andy Large expressed their disappointment and concern that the EDL have targeted Hanley for their demonstrations, which have often resulted in violence and hatred towards those who oppose the views of the EDL.
