Potteries Way

Posted by Tony Walley

Stoke-on-Trent’s world class ceramic brands are to be celebrated in a scheme to promote the city.  As part of the city’s World Capital of Ceramics status scores of colourful ceramic based designs are being put up on lighting columns along the Potteries Way. The designs use images of some of the city’s 350 ceramic based companies including world famous brands such as Wades, Wedgwood and Steelite International.

Just how long does it take to get a project finished, never mind started in Stoke-on-Trent? Back in February, we reported on the the facelift of Potteries Way. The Elected Mayor, Mark Meredith & Councillor Adrian Knapper were photographed with a local resident and a shiny shovel marking the start of a £1.8 million project to improve Potteries Way. The project boasted hundreds of new trees & hedges to replace the 'poor quality' ones which were already in place.
