Today Stoke City have confirmed that they have completed the signing of 17 year-old Belgian midfielder Florent Cuvelier. Cuvelier received interest from several Premier League clubs including Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham, but chose to join the Potters. Cuveiler has signed a two-year contract with the club which confirms his move from Portsmouth.
Last night Stoke City held their Player Of The Year Awards at the Britannia Stadium. Winger Matthew Etherington bagged a hat-trick to cap his excellent season when Stoke City staged their Player of the Year Stadium Show on Sunday evening. The winger was named Player of the Year, Players’ Player of the Year and the Red and Whites Player of the Year as the Potters celebrated an outstanding season.

Yesterday councillors meeting as the Audit Committee on Stoke-on-Trent City Council were once again angry and disappointed as the District Auditor failed to present his report first requested, unbelievably in October 2008, on the sale of the shares in the Britannia Stadium by the City Council.
Stoke City’s home game with Blackburn on Saturday was saddened with the death of a travelling Blackburn supporter. The man of 30, who has not yet been named, was found collapsed on the South Stand concourse just after 4pm on Saturday 6th February. Some 1,300 travelling fans were using that area of the ground.
