Today we spoke to Max Caller from the Local Government Boundaries Commission. I asked him to explain a little bit about the Boundaries Commission and the job they do and how that will affect Stoke on Trent's Council Ward boundaries. To make further suggestions to the boundary commission you can visit their website: Thanks To Nikki Davis for her work on the question content.

The Poor Cnights of St Chad

Today saw the Saxons land at Etruria, just outside the Industrial Museum to be exact. After reading about their imminent arrival her on pitsnpots, I added the date to my diary and we headed on down. The Saxons were in fact the Poor Cnichts of St.Chad, a Saxon/Viking re-enactment group based in Staffordshire. The weather looked a bit iffy but we and quite a few other folk decided to brave it and pop down to see the Saxon Warriors and maidens.

Some parts of Stoke on Trent have not had the bins emptied today and probably the rest of the week due to the problem of accessing the side streets which have not been gritted. I have been complaining to officers of the city council for a number weeks asking them for grit bins to be placed in strategic areas on the housing estates in my ward the response I received was we have not got the funding to supply or fill the grit bins.

If you’ve read this blog for a while you will know by now that I am no fan of the BNP. Don’t get me wrong I would fight for their right to exist and for your right to vote for them. That is what makes our country great, a democracy built on the principles of free speech.

Companies will have a second opportunity to tender for the demolition of former Victorian Workhouse Westcliffe Hospital following an announcement by Cllr Brian Ward. As no contract has been awarded, the tendering process is only expected to take a matter of weeks and as such will not hold up the development. Deputy Council Leader Brian Wards announcement has been welcomed by Cllr Alan Rigby and Stoke South MP Rob Flello.
