Big question marks now hang over the future of the NSRP, its board and its management as the “Strategic Partnership”, the anchor tenant in the proposed business quarter, falls apart.

I am sitting at my computer finally having calmed down after Thursday’s budget setting council. My incandescent rage that has slowly extinguished throughout the evening was sparked by the absolutely diabolical proceedings in the chamber this afternoon. To be honest my anger with the performance of many of my colleagues from the other council groups is unlikely to go away for a good while.

Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Archive Service’s Annual Day School next month will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the joining of the six pottery towns of Tunstall, Burslem, Hanley, Stoke-upon-Trent, Fenton and Longton to form the new borough of Stoke-on-Trent. The popular Day School, now in its 12th year will take place on Saturday March 6 at Staffordshire University’s Stoke Campus from 10am to 4pm. A fascinating programme has been planned with a range of popular speakers.

British Waterways, Rudyard Lake Limited and Rudyard Sailability are pleased to announce that, following a mediation process, all parties have agreed to work together to deliver a new facility for the disabled sailing charity at the lake. Although the exact details of the agreement will remain confidential all parties are now keen to move forward and to work together on the agreed solution.

Stoke-on-Trent’s world class ceramic brands are to be celebrated in a scheme to promote the city.  As part of the city’s World Capital of Ceramics status scores of colourful ceramic based designs are being put up on lighting columns along the Potteries Way. The designs use images of some of the city’s 350 ceramic based companies including world famous brands such as Wades, Wedgwood and Steelite International.

After Operation Chime scaled down as demonstrators left Hanley Operation Clean Up began. Council workers moved in to Hanley after the police had re opened roads and moved most of the demonstrators back to their trains. A team of 15 council workers worked in to the night in to Sunday morning to clean the areas from the Town Hall through to Wetherspoons up to remove any debris and rubbish left by the demonstrators so that Sunday morning shoppers would not be greeted by discarded banners and poster
