Norsheen Bhatti Statement On The National Front.
Commenting on the news that the National Front, the BNP and an Independent BNP are all to contest Stoke Central at the general Election, Conservative Parliamentary Spokesman Norsheen Bhatti said,
“It is deeply worrying that so many extremist parties are targeting the people of Stoke. Stoke residents want an MP who will work for everyone to make our city a better for everyone, not someone who will look to divide and demonise some of its residents.
It doesn’t matter what they are called, these parties are nasty, racist and abhorrent and I am sure that the people of Stoke have too much common sense to be taken in by their smears and lies.
I hope all the other political parties will join me in campaigning hard to show local people that there is a reason to vote for a mainstream party at this election. Racism is nasty whatever the name of the party who peddle it and there is nothing British about the BNP.”

Why is she worried? All that
Why is she worried? All that will happen is the dumb racist vote will get split and they are further from winning this seat.
I for one welcome the NF to
I for one welcome the NF to the City. In these days of digital Technology we can really see what they stand for, hear and record what they say and get pictures of them so we know who to avoid.
Let them crawl out of the woodwork, we all need a good laugh.

Sorry. I really mean that.
Sorry. I really mean that. Sorry, the evil NF never left the City. They have always, and still are noticeable around Burslem Town.
They tend to be inciduous. They place NF stickers on street signs. You stop at a crossing or a bus stop, and its there. Just off the main roads there is graffitti.
As I say, sorry. They are still here. And now they see their chance to regroup and grow.
I hope they get prosecuted too, so they do not prosper.
But they are standing in Central ? Not North ? Why ?
Discrimination is enemy here,
Discrimination is enemy here, and racism is a part of it.
There is nothing British about the BNP?
Grow up Norsheen.
A democracy means anyone can
A democracy means anyone can stand, its her job to defeat them with debate and policy.... obviously her tool kit is empty on that score?
David Jack is right. In a
David Jack is right. In a democracy, anyone can stand.
The truth is that these minor fringe parties are an irrelevance that will command no more than a tiny proportion of the voters voting in May.
But by constantly talking about them and treating the threat as serious, we make them the story of the election. We make them the party to watch, the candidate to beat. In effect, we let them set the agenda.
My advice would be to stop going on about the BNP, Independent BNP, National Front and others and concentrate on the things that really matter to people.
They are all helping to assist their own defeat by fighting like ferrets in a sack and putting up multiple candidates to split their tiny vote.
If Norsheen has a good story to tell, if we have good, positive things to say the I suggest we SAY them and stop being distracted by this irrelevance.
Thats right Shaun, too much
Thats right Shaun, too much focus is given to irrelavance. If politcal main stream parties concentrated and making the things that effect us all better then no one would even give these minor fringes a lookin.
Strange how non of the usual
Strange how non of the usual are mentioning Labour pinching the BNPS slogan of "Operation Fightback" LOL.

Almost the same as the local lib dems...'operation stabbed in the back'!!
That's because few people
That's because few people probably know rather than any hypocrisy. Look for a simple reason rather than a conspiracy that isn't there...
David spot on mate.
David spot on mate.
I would think that all three
I would think that all three majer partys will be happy about this, as it gives the right wing uneduated voters of ward a three way spilt of there vote, Darby, Alby and withever hoodlem runs the the utterley disgusting NF. I think its a close one between Fisher and Bhatti, Alby might run the Libdems fine for third, and let the party biggets run off for the wooden spoon.
Caring for the city and all within it.
